  If this card's [On Play] effect only reveals 1 card with the [DM] trait but that card has the [Ver.3] trait, can I choose to place it in the digivolution cards of my Digimon without adding it to the hand?

  No, you can't.
  You must first choose a card to add to the hand, add it, then choose from the remaining revealed cards to place in digivolution cards.
