I have 7 cards in my hand. I attack with a Digimon that has this card in its digivolution cards, and from another [When Attacking] effect. I now have 8 cards in my hand. Can I use this card’s inherited effect during the attack to return 1 of my opponent’s Digimon to its owner’s hand?

Yes. If you have this card’s inherited effect activate after , you'll have 8 cards in your hand at the time of activation, allowing you to return your opponent’s card to their hand.
